KinTypes age policy

KinTypes is for people age 13 and older. We check eligibility before sign-in and minimize the age information the app and server receive.

Minimum age

You must be at least 13 to create or use a KinTypes account. If the law where you live requires a higher minimum age or permission from a parent or legal guardian, that requirement also applies. Permission to download the app through an app-store or device control does not override KinTypes eligibility.

Age checks on iPhone and iPad

On supported Apple operating systems, KinTypes first asks Apple’s Declared Age Range service whether you are in the 13-or-older range. Apple controls the sharing prompt. KinTypes receives an age range and a general declaration category when shared; it does not receive your date of birth or exact age from Apple.

If Apple’s service is unavailable or you decline to share a range, KinTypes offers the same neutral date-of-birth check used on other supported platforms. That date is used only in memory on your device to calculate whether you are at least 13. The date itself and your calculated exact age are not saved or sent to KinTypes.

What KinTypes retains

After an eligible result, the KinTypes server stores only that the current 13-or-older requirement was confirmed, the confirmation method, a general declaration category, the age-policy version, and the confirmation time. This lets the server reject old clients or sessions that have not completed the current check without keeping a birthday.

If the result is under 13, KinTypes stops before requesting Apple or Google sign-in information. We do not offer an under-13 account or parental-consent account flow.

Changes and existing accounts

If the minimum age, applicable law, or this verification contract materially changes, KinTypes may require the age check again before renewing a session or using account APIs. Account deletion remains available even when another account action is restricted.

Teen safety

Shared KinTypes surfaces are safe-for-work. Do not publish your precise location, school, legal name, contact details, daily schedule, or other information that could identify or locate you. Use Hide, Block, and Report when an interaction feels unsafe, and tell a trusted adult when appropriate.

Underage accounts and questions

If you believe an account belongs to a child under 13, email admin@worldbuilders.app. We may verify the report and take steps to remove personal information and close the account. See the privacy policy, terms of service, and community rules for related details.
